A Greater Purpose in Sexuality
I’m often asked why I do what I do in helping people become more comfortable with their sexual selves, and the answer is always the same. I know I’ve been called to teach, and my subject of choice is sexuality. For years I lived in fear of my own sexuality repressing my thoughts and feelings because my religious upbringing required that I did so. Sex is only for the married and committed is what I was taught, but my spirit felt otherwise. I’ve been aware of my sexuality since the age of four, and I can remember being drawn to situations where sexual energy was apparent, but as a child how can one explore these thoughts and feelings without it being seen as inappropriate? Repression is the worst thing anyone can do to sexual energy. I mean, sexual energy is the catalyst that gives us all the initial spark of existence to exist within this earthly experience. It’s interesting how something that is so pure in nature can be labeled as taboo and unfit for mass market consumption yet it’s very power is used to fuel every fiber of life. And this is where most of our issues lie when it comes to sexual expression.
I saw a lane years ago that seemed to be less traveled by women of color, and I decided to go down this path of healing and education not just for the world but for myself. I feel that it’s healthy for other women of color to see someone who looks like them, lives like them and feels like them speak openly and honestly about sexuality. Speaking about it is the first step towards sexual freedom. Four years ago when I started my blog Glamerotica101.com I did so with the very intention of touching millions around the world with my words of advice. I never profess to know all there is to know about sexuality, but the fun part about this journey I am on is the learning experience and then teaching what I’ve learned to all of you. My blog, my writing, my videos none of this is about me or about fame. It’s about bringing people into a better understanding and awareness of self. The same awareness that I’ve gained from exploring my sexuality and becoming one with it is the same experience I want all of you to have. We have been taught wrong. We have been mislead by those who we consider to be leaders. We have been told to repress and lock away certain parts of ourselves to fit within the whole of society, and if you’re honest with yourself it doesn’t seem like society as a whole is completely happy with its decisions.
I understand, sexuality is a touchy subject for many of you, but that’s why I’m here. I’m here to help you become less emotional about your sexuality and to become aware for the first time in your lives. Emotion is a product of ego, and ego will often keep you away from exploring what comes natural to you. You’re so used to everyone else dictating how you should feel about your sexual self and what you should do with that energy, but I’m here to tell you that it’s not up to anyone else to control what is rightfully in your hands to control. Your sexual energy is yours to manipulate as you please. Sexuality is more than just the physical act of intimacy. It is the relationship between yourself and creation. How beautiful is that?? If you could reach a place of complete bliss where everything is perfect and in order, would you want to go there? If you don’t believe it’s possible, I’m here to tell you that it is, and the relationship with your sexual self is the start of the journey toward nirvana.
So if you want to know why I do what I do in writing these articles and making these videos and in broadcasting on the radio weekly, you have your answer. I do this so you can be free. I want you to be free to live as you choose to live and for you to be aware of the magic that is contained within you through your sexual energy. Your life can be as wonderful as you dream up as long as you believe it and use the raw energy within yourself to propel your dreams into a physical reality. Sexuality is more than just a physical intimate act, and if you continue to follow me I will show you all of what I mean. Don’t worry, I’m here to help your physical sexual relations to be the best they can be as well, but whenever you’re ready, I’m here to help you reach a higher state of consciousness in your sexual expression.
Assignment: This week, I would like for all of you to sit in silence for at least 5 minutes and ask yourself the question “what does sexuality mean to me?” If you can’t come to a solid conclusion, it’s okay. Ask yourself the same question again on another day or during another time when you have a moment to yourself. The answer to this question is the beginning of your sexual freedom.
